November 17, 2003: Schwarzenegger sworn in as Governor California The bodybuilder and actor best known for his role as a cyborg in the science fiction movie, The Terminator, replaced then Governor Gray Davis.


November 18,1963: Push button phones are used for the first time Bell systems started replacing rotary dial phones by push button phones in the US. 


November 19, 1969: Second Moon Landing The second spacecraft to land on the Moon, Apollo 12 was the 6th manned flight of NASA’s Apollo program. Charles Conrad Jr. and Alan L. Bean became the 3rd and 4th humans to step on the surface of the Moon.


November 20, 1923: Traffic signal patented American, Garret Morgan, was awarded the patent for an automated traffic signal. This signal was the precursor for today’s yellow light.


November 21, 1979: US embassy burnt down in Pakistan The mob was allegedly incensed by a rumour that the United States was involved in an attack on a mosque in the holy city of Makkah. 


November 22,1963: John F. Kennedy assassinated The 35th US President was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, while traveling in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. He was the 4th American president to be assassinated while in office.


November 23, 1976: First person to dive 100 meters in the sea without breathing equipment Frenchman Jacques Mayol, who is also sometimes known as Dolphin Man, was 49 years old at the time. He broke his own record 7 years later by diving 105 meters.
