India wants The Legend of Maula Jutt to be screened in local theatres

Many are calling it Pakistan’s reply to Game of Thrones by virtue of its superior cinematography. It is already a stupendous achievement that The Legend of Maula Jutt has been able to topple SRK’s long awaited release Zero as no 1. Twitter trend in India on the day of its release but the bigger success is the fact that Indian audiences are sharing their desire to see this film in local theatres. Love is pouring in for the Humsafar couple admirers especially from across the border and it’s evident how Pakistan’s most popular TV couple is still their silver screen dream pairing. One fan Rahul Yadav wrote, “This is nothing short of a Hollywood production in terms of production and scale. Love from India”. Another Anirban Kangoe expressed, “Blown away by the trailer. Hope it gets released in India”. Many Indians have raised an important question that why can’t they get to see the film in Indian theatres when Pakistani fans get to watch Indian movies.


Directed by Bilal Lashari, The Legend of Maula Jatt, is the story of a fierce prizefighter with a tortured past who seeks vengeance against the most feared warrior in medieval Punjab.
