How to seize the day

Do these things before 8 a.m.!

The world is real quiet at the hour, don’t bother with catching up with the news, you can do that on the drive to work and you could simply ease into the day. But despite the hustle of daily life, if you are determined to make the most of your day in terms of productiveness, then here is what you should do starting eight am (or a little later).

Take time to deep breath and meditate

This one is a no-brainer really. Before all the breakfast, bathing and rushing to work chaos engulfs you, it is strongly advisable to do some meditation. Focus on positive, happy thoughts and count at least three things that you are grateful for.

Drink some water

Again, we know it is pretty basic but a lot of us miss out on having a glass of water in the morning. Water needs to be your go-to drink when you are trying to wake up your body, instead of having a cup of coffee or tea. If your taste buds crave some flavour, you can always go for infused water, which makes it even healthier.

Exercise and stretch

It doesn't have to be to some heavy-lifting. You can start with easy-breezy stretches to get moving. In fact, exercising for as little as 10 minutes can have an incredible effect on your overall attitude and mood.

Do not touch your phone

Make it a point to not check any social media, emails or messages before 8 a.m. Quit your habit of checking the smart phone like the morning newspaper as it actually takes quite a chunk of your highly productive time.

Have a healthy breakfast

Time and again, you have been told by your mother not to rush out before having your breakfast properly, there is a reason behind the same. A healthy breakfast not only provides you with enough energy to kick start your day, but it also helps you focus better at the tasks in hand.

Plan your day very carefully

If you have a specific goal in mind, you cannot really take any hour of your day for granted. Write down the most important things that need to be done and take out time for the same. Make it a point to only assign tasks that you have the time and energy to complete. The easiest way to do so is to write down everything that comes to your mind and then prioritize it.

Dress up

No more tossing hairbrush in your bag to detangle your hair on-the-go. Instead, enjoy the whole process of getting dressed and flaunt the newly found confidence that comes with proper attire.
