DIANA’S STYLE MOMENTS STILL ON TREND

More than 20 years have passed since the sad demise of Princess Diana, but her style is still as influential and relevant as it was decades ago.

POLKA DOTS

Polka dots aren't just a classic summer style – they were one of Princess Diana's signature prints. In fact, from her several appearances in polka dots, her most memorable remains to be the teal polka dots dress she wore leaving St. Mary's Hospital with newborn Prince William in 1982.

WHITE SHOES

Like most royals, Princess Diana's footwear collection was never limited. She had a mix of heels, flats, and boots at her disposal to match her many outfits and white appeared to be her favourite hue for footwear. In fact, before Jimmy Choo became synonymous with Sex and the City, it was the royal herself who brought the spotlight to the brand. You see now where the white Jimmy Choo’s came from?

GIVE THEM THE COLD SHOULDER

When you don on your best off-shoulder tops for the evening, take inspo from the woman who put the ‘revenge’ in her dress. June 1994, Princess Diana wore a dress not so fit for a princess – an off-the-shoulder, form-fitting black silk dress. Despite being estranged and separated from Prince Charles since 1991, Diana still embodied an elegant radiance, even if the slinky number broke royal protocol. The iconic dress was soon dubbed the “revenge dress”.

BLAZER-IN

When an alpha woman wants to put her foot down or mark her turf, she does it best in power dressing – think a power-infused blazer. Diana has been known to flaunt a couple of blazers, telling the royal protocol, she’s her own boss.

BILLOWING SLEEVES

Big, ballooning and ruffled sleeves are all the rage on fashion runways. And we know one person who rocked them better than anyone.

For causal outing with her sons or official visits to the world around, her most iconic fashion moments include plenty of ruffled sleeves.

ROYALTY IMPRESSIONS

Daughter-in-laws, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have paid homage to Diana by replicating her most iconic dresses from time to time. Here is looking at the most memorable.

Princess Diana at her wedding rehearsal in July 1981; the Duchess of Cambridge at the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace in August 2017.

Meghan Markle wore the Sentaler red ride-collar wrap coat paired with a Babaton dress, flashing exemplary maternity style. During a visit to Hong Kong in 1989, Princess Diana wore the same vibrant color scheme as pictured. Red and purple is not a popular color combination, so this dress was clearly a reference to Diana!
