#ColdestOpening

Head to the latest cold dessert place on the block Bingsu, which promises a different icy-sweet goodness for your sweettooth. First of its kind in Pakistan, the world-famous Korean shaved ice is introduced to the metropolitan and Karachittes can’t have enough of it. We swung by its immensely-cute premise at Khayaban-e-Nishat last week, which felt like entering a fondant cake enclosure dribbling in blues and white. Our server suggested we to try their Butterbeer drink, whose name itself stirs mingled feelings of elation and nostalgia in us, diehard Harry Potter fans. The fizzy soda drink topped with a floating layer of cream made for an interesting, never-tried-this-before swigs. The dessert bar allows you to share a bowl for two with a friend or order one separately for yourself – both bowls offering ample servings of milky-shaved ice goodness. From seven flavours of Bingsu which included the yummy sounding ‘Apple Crumble’, ‘Very Berry’ and ‘Toasted Coconut’, a colleague and I settled for single-serving bowls of ‘Nutty Nuttella’ and ‘Caramel’. Laden with creamy mess and crunchy toppings we dug into out bowls marvelling at curious texture of milky shave ice which was like eating flavoured snow! A must try joy ride, Bingsu promises a clean, clutter-free place, with just the right amount of colour pop, an amazing sound system with smiling staff who were spot on with their suggestions. – Attiya Abbass
