Mushk Kaleem and Alicia Khan walk the ramp at Milan Fashion Week

The Pakistani supermodels were invited by the Forbes featured designer Stella Jean to walk the ramp for her eponymous fashion show at the Milan Fashion Week 2019. Jean visited Pakistan in her attempt to empower rural women through fashion. Upon her visit, she was inspired by the embroidery and designs indigenous to the women of Chitral, Kalash and Hunza. For two weeks, Jean lived in the remote valleys of Chitral with the Kalash people. She learned about the embroidery women do to adorn their dresses, a tradition that is at risk of becoming extinct. To raise awareness about the beautiful embroidery of the northern areas of Pakistan and to provide these women with an income, Stella Jean decided to embrace those crafts in her Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
