In order to tackle grave issue like child abduction, the Government of Pakistan has directed the launch of a new mobile phone application “Mera Bacha Alert.” The motive behind the launch of this application is to keep a track of the missing child cases in Pakistan. The app will be connected with Pakistan Citizen Portal so that the progress on any case, including the recovery of the child, could be monitored and as per the details, following the registration of a missing child on the application, the data will be shared with provincial inspectors general of police (IGPs) and other senior officers through the same app. This initiative is taken by the government in order to curb heinous crimes like child abuse and abduction.
