Censor board lifts the ban from Durj

After prolonged struggles and relentless dialogues, the actor-cum-filmmaker Shamoon Abbasi’s film Durj has been cleared by the censor board of Pakistan. Given the subject matter of cannibalism portrayed in the film, Durj was too gory for some. But after a second viewing by the Central Censor Board, the ban on Durj has been lifted. Shamoon thanked his fans, the censor board and all the people for showing support for his film on Twitter. “Durj ban had been lifted by the federal censor board and we are thankful to Danyal Gilani sahab for being there to help us in the process," he wrote. The film was supposed to release on 18th October in Pakistan. A new release date of the film is soon to be announced.
