iPhone SE 2 in March?

TECH NEWS

Information about Apple's (possibly) upcoming successor to the iPhone SE is trickling out slowly but surely. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors) has a new report on the iPhone SE 2 (which may or may not be its name), claiming the phone will go into mass production in January next year with a launch date in late March. Earlier this month, Kuo said the SE 2 will be launched in the first quarter of 2020, so the new timing narrows it down to the very end of that range. Note that the iPhone SE was launched in March 2016, and an upgraded version was launched in March 2017.

Google sneaks in AR ad behind Pixel 4 box

Augmented reality has the potential to change how we see the world – or, I guess if you want to get technical, the way companies show ads to us. The latest example of this breakthrough is courtesy of Google's Pixel 4. The new smartphone, released Oct. 24, comes complete with a Google Lens-enabled AR surprise. As Android Police reports, when users point their new phone at the back of the Pixel 4 box, they are treated with an ad for Google's Instagram account. "Welcome to #teampixel," reads the animated ad. "Tap to join the global community @googlepixel."
