Celebrated veteran dancer and activist Sheema Kermani was a subject of a documentary that won two awards at the South Asian Film Festival of Montreal. Titled Bell on Her Feet, director Taimur Rahim won Jury Award and Audience Choice Award for Best Short Documentary at the prestigious festival. Kermani has been an influential social activist in Pakistan and has dedicated precious years of her life to her causes and used classical dance as a symbol of empowerment and resilience.
