Islamabad is now declared safer than Paris and London

Another Milestone?

According to a recent report of the World Crime Index issued by the international organisation Numbeo, Islamabad’s international ranking has much improved by 69 levels. A statement by Islamabad police claimed that the crime index has decreased since last year and has dropped from 32.88pc to 28.63pc, to 301st place as revealed. The capital’s ranking is now much improved as compared to other metropolitan cities of the world London, Paris, Moscow, Berlin, Sydney and Shanghai to name a few from the list of 374 cities that were surveyed. The crime rate has also reduced by four per cent making it safer. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Mohammad Aamir Zulfiqar while commenting on the ranking said that reduction in the crime rate has been a result of effective strategy in the capital. He also added, “Effective action is being ensured against criminal and anti-social elements.”
