In December 2006, a pivotal moment unfolded in my life. Through the facilitation of Mir Javed Sahib and Anwar Sahib, the esteemed editorial director of "Akhbar-e-Jehan," an opportunity arose for me to secure a regular position at the publication. Having previously engaged in freelance work for several newspapers and magazines, I harbored reservations about transitioning into a formal role. Unlike my prior experiences in smaller, congenial settings, the prospect of joining a large, structured organization felt daunting, especially considering the reputed sternness of Mir Javed Sahib.

Nearly fifteen years earlier, Mir Javed Sahib had extended a similar offer during a meeting concerning "Jang Digest" page in “Daily Jang", over which he wielded considerable influence. Despite my apprehensions, I declined the offer at that time. Surprisingly, my decision did not impact my ongoing serialized story in "Akhbar-e-Jehan," a fact that puzzled me for days.

Fast forward to December 2006, as I walked into the meeting room, I was greeted by a gathering of prominent individuals closely associated with Mir Javed Sahib. Mr. Javed welcomed me warmly, correcting my notion of the time elapsed since our last encounter and reminiscing about our previous discussions regarding "Jang Digest."

Over time, I became acquainted with Mir Javed Sahib's idiosyncrasies, including his forgetfulness juxtaposed with a remarkably detailed memory on certain matters. His ability to recall specific issues of "Akhbar-e-Jehan" or "Jang," complete with dates and content, never failed to astound me. Yet, his unpredictability added to his enigmatic persona.

Subsequently, upon assuming my role at "Akhbar-e-Jehan," I witnessed the departure of Akhlaq Sahib, who transitioned from the editorial realm to pursue endeavors in the property sector. Mir Javed Sahib wasted no time in appointing me as editor, a decision that surprised both myself and my colleagues.

In the initial days of my tenure, I found myself humbled by the distinguished editors who had preceded me, including Nazir Naji, Mahmood Sham, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shammi, Nisar Ahmad Zubairi, and Shafi Aqeel. Despite feeling inadequate in comparison, Mir Javed Sahib's unwavering confidence in me bolstered my resolve.

As Mir Javed Sahib's life entered its final chapter, his health faltered, yet his resilience and positivity never wavered. Regrettably, his journey reached its conclusion too soon, leaving "Akhbar-e-Jehan" without its guiding light.

The subsequent layoffs at "Akhbar-e-Jehan," attributed to the challenges facing print media, further underscored Mir Javed Sahib's absence, leaving a palpable void within the organization. His legacy, however, endures, as his indelible imprint continues to shape the publication's ethos.

As we navigate the corridors of "Akhbar-e-Jehan," Mir Javed Sahib's presence is felt at every turn. His absence is a constant reminder of his unparalleled dedication and passion for the publication. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on, immortalized in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him.

In remembrance of Mir Javed Sahib, we offer our prayers, beseeching the Almighty to grant him eternal peace and a place of honor in paradise. Amen!
