A British man was caught after making it more than halfway up the fifth-tallest skyscraper in the world in Seoul using just his bare hands, according to the authorities. The man was seen Monday morning mounting the 123-story, 555-meter (1,820-foot)-tall Lotte World Tower, prompting the dispatch of more than 90 emergency, police, and other personnel, according to a statement from the Seoul fire agency. A gondola lift was used to transport the man, who was in his 20s, inside the building after he reached the 72nd floor, which is around 310 metres (1,020 feet) high, according to the statement. South Korean media identified the man as free climber George King-Thompson. The reports said he was carrying a parachute and told police that he wanted to BASE-jump from the top of the building. Fire and police authorities didn’t immediately confirm the man’s name or his motive.
