Juggun Kazim and Omair Rana starrer ‘Pehli Wali’ gives a new outlook on life after divorce and remarriage

Short of the week

There’s a thin line between love and hate. And it gets even thinner when dotted and two parties are signing on it after many, many months. We’re writing, of course, about divorce. And for the characters in such movies, whether they’re moving on and remarrying after divorce or getting back together for reconciliation, divorce is their new normal. Explored through lenses of humour, social and gender politics, and certain heartwarming moments, the recently released short film Pehli Wali gives us a new outlook on the subjects like life after divorce and remarriage in our society – but not as a stigma. With Juggun Kazim, Omair Rana and Sidra Niazi in the lead, the film revolves around a divorced couple with two children, their unique bond and love-hate relationship that keeps them knitted together. Even as they embark on new adventures in their lives, they can never block each other out.
