Over the past few years, we’ve seen a string of war movies and TV shows emerge. Some have performed better than others and many have received critical acclaim. But almost none has included portrayals of women in combat. Until now. The trailer for the much awaited women-led drama Sinf-e-Aahan was released recently. The trailer revolved around the story of six women played by Sajal Aly, Syra Yousuf, Yumna Zaidi, Kubra Khan, Ramsha Khan and Yehali Tashiya Kalidasa. While Sajal, Kubra, Syra and Yehali’s characters seem to be of modern women in complex situations, Yumna and Ramsha’s characters seem to belong to rural areas battling for their rights. Now, prologues for each character are being released one after another, making the drama all the more interesting.
