Ali Zafar honoured the labourers this Labour Day with new song Hum Mazdoor

Paying tribute

In Pakistan, we live to work and work to live – and we never stop complaining about it. Even folks who love their jobs are never satisfied. Luckily, we pause once a year on 1st May to commemorate Labour Day, a celebration of the worker. Since musicians aren’t immune to the workaday blues, there are plenty of great tunes to spin on this holiday, and what follows is the recently released Labour Day song by Ali Zafar titled as Hum Mazdoor in an effort to pay tribute to the labourers facing hardships during the pandemic. Releasing his song on his social media, he wrote, “As we celebrate the labour that built up this great land from field to field, desk to desk, and hand in hand we must not forget the role of women whose struggle against odds is a source of inspiration for all.” The song has been produced and performed by Ali Zafar and directed by Ahsan Asghar along with Ahmad Masood. The poetry and composition are by Rehman Faris and music by Hassan Badshah.
